During this workshop your instructors have assumed the role of Platform Operator. You can assume that what you’re being given is similar to what a new project team would receive upon requesting a fresh environment from whichever group you would ask for such things.
1. Orgs
An organization is the unit of tenancy in Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Within an enterprise there are typically many lines of business. These map to Orgs within Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
2. Spaces
Spaces are used to group applications and services. Spaces are generally created according to a project’s delivery environments (e.g. test, qa, staging, production). However, spaces are free form and we believe development teams should organize them in whatever way suits their needs and objectives.
Your instructors will be providing you with an org and space.
Within your org you’ll find a space. Spaces are where you will do your work (push your applications, create service instances, etc).
If you are taking this course via e-learning use an org and space appropriate for your environment.

3. Accounts
You will need an account to access Pivotal Cloud Foundry. Your instructors will provide one for you.
If taking this course via e-learning, use a Pivotal Cloud Foundry account that your admin has setup for you or use Pivotal Web Services. Choose the org and space that works for you.
